So, I have another Haul for you, one of these days I will get back around to reviewing the products I have been buying. I have been running out of the products I have lately because you may have heard but I am on a mission to get through my backlog.
This one is due to the need for a few lip products, I believe I only had one or two which were getting a bit old and dried up. I thought I would treat myself. I am still working on minimalism and not hoarding lots of products which makes this a fail, but it is a good failure because I will use these products and for the most part, they are not on top of what I already have they were new and will be put to good use.
Benefit Hula Bronzer
Bourjois Paris Radiance Reveal Concealer
Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Naughty Plum
Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Base Lissanté Anti-Fatigue Blurring Primer
Bourjois Nail Varnish in Beige
Benefit Hula Bronzer
The first item, I have wanted for years but could not justify the money for one product, I have always been quite anti-high-end products because I didn’t see the point when you can find cheaper products that work just fine. If you have ever watched a makeup video or makeup channel on YouTube, you probably would have heard about the Benefit Hula Bronzer. This is supposedly good for everyone which is rare, I knew one day I was going to give it a go and hope for the best. I did want to test it before I took the bullet of buying it but no one I knew had it for me to be able to give it a go.
The main reason I was a bit reserved about purchasing this item is that it was £25.50 for one product. It baffles me as to what could cause this product to cost £25.50. The packaging is nice but not luxurious, and it isn’t a large amount of product. Are their diamonds in the powder? It seems a lot like you are paying for the name, not the product which is a bit disappointing. However, I did finally push myself to purchase this from Boots.
Anyway, I have it now and I am excited to try it out, I am secretly hoping it fails so I don’t have to repurchase it but if it is a good colour for me, I will be over the moon because finding a good colour for me is near impossible. Most bronzers are too dark. If you would like to pick one up, head to your local Boots, or follow this link to order online.
Bourjois Paris Radiance Reveal Concealer
This product was the free item in the 3 for 2 offer that was on, I picked the lightest shade if you hadn’t already guessed. What else would I pick up? I need to stop falling into the trap of buying products because they are on offer unless it is what I want. That is the tactic of shops, the offers get you to buy more even though you think you are saving. I had been wanting to try a new product in the concealer department so maybe this offer did me a favour.
I haven’t tried any face products from Bourjois so far, I am not sure what it is going to be like, I am not expecting full coverage though. It just seems the consistency is a bit too loose for it to be full coverage, but I might be surprised you can never tell.
This product comes in three shades, Bourjois is not known for its range of shades. I have a feeling it will be a bit dark under my eyes, but I can use it on my skin anyway. One thing I always like with Bourjois is their packaging, it looks luxurious, and superior don’t you think? It is supposedly a moisturising concealer with Mont Blanc glacier water. Let me know what you think and if you have used this product before I would be happy to hear your thoughts.
As always once I have used it a bit, I will be completing a review, I know I haven’t done many reviews lately I am just working on using up products, but I haven’t formed a viable opinion on any of them yet. I bought mine in Superdrug, but you can pick one up from wherever sells Bourjois. Here is a link to the Boots website where you can purchase one for £7.99.
Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick
I am not sure if this is a new product or if I am just blind, and I haven’t seen this collection before, but I saw this, and the colour just popped out to me. I also thought the tip of this was interesting, is it called a tip? I am not sure. It is the tube where the lip product sits. The end of the tube is a very interesting sort of tear shape opening instead of just your typical round ring. I like how you can see the colour at the end of the lipstick while it is closed, and the lid is also the colour of the lipstick which makes it easy to find in your collection. I have tried to push myself to buy and use more lip products, but I have always avoidant them. Lately, I have been playing around with colours trying to work out which ones I like and if I feel confident in them and just have some in my collection for when I want to wear them.
This product I also bought in Superdrug but please find the link below to purchase this item from Boots for £8.99.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Naughty Plum
Now, this one came with quite a funny story. It even made the sales assistant laugh. I bought this product in a quick grab, pay, and run. I didn’t spend too much time looking at the colours. I picked one out from the testers, grabbed it and that was that. When I got home, I went to look at the colour and there was no colour. The lipstick wasn’t in the tube. The plastic packaging was still on it, but the lipstick wasn’t in there. Has this ever happened to you? I found it funny, as did my mum when I showed her. Luckily, the sales assistant found it very funny and were happy to swap it out for one that did have the lipstick in it.
I picked this colour because I didn’t have anything like it, and I had never tried it before. It is a vampy colour, great for parties or birthdays. I am excited to give it a go.
Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Base Lissanté Anti-Fatigue Blurring Primer
This item was a random choice, I have never been into primers because I have never noticed a huge difference when using them. Maybe I have never found one that works well with my skin. In general, I have noticed primers are not the cheapest item and generally comes in small pots. I don’t think there are a lot of products for the price of this product. I don’t have any expectations because I am not a primer user, I have only used two in my makeup lifetime. Right off the bat, it doesn’t seem as if this is going to last very long.
When trying a new product, I like to try and use it with the other products in the same collection, in theory, they should work best together as they have been designed to work well together. I do want to try their foundations so maybe once I have given this a go, I will be more encouraged by Bourjois face products, it all seems a bit out of my skin complexion. I do love the Bourjois nail varnishes but so far out of the products I have tried which is not a lot I haven’t wanted to repurchase, mostly due to the colours or shades, they weren’t right for my skin.
Keep your eyes open for the review once I have had a chance to try it out. If you head down to your local Boots, you can pay £9.99 and get yourself one of these to try out with me.
Bourjois Nail Varnish in Beige
Speaking of Bourjois nail varnish, I just had to buy one. I have a few already but a couple of the have dried up and are old. I figured it was time for a new colour to replace some of the old ones, and why not?
This is a nude colour which will look good with glitter over the top. I like the nude colours because you can transition them to an evening party after work if you need to. They look smart, but they are also an everyday colour. If you have trouble applying nail varnish neatly, it is mostly down to the brush. This is possibly the best brush I have ever used in a nail varnish. It forms such a nice clean oval shape. The only issue I have is the brush is a tad big for the smaller fingers. I would recommend giving these a try, they make the application ridiculously quick and easy. It also dried quickly, so you’re not left hanging around waiting for it to dry. They are not the cheapest nail varnish you can find at £5.99.
