If you have been reading recently you will know I have had a bit of a situation going on with empties. My situation is that I have a lot of them. So, this is part 2 to my 3-part empty product series. I have been using up so many products recently, but that is my mission so I’m not complaining. I am getting sick of having products sitting around that are slightly used and left to one side for later. I have a gift for buying products I don’t need, and then they sit collecting dust while I am trying to get around to them, therefore I am trying to get the products I have accumulated used up, so I can start afresh and have less mess hanging around. My living space is clean, a bit dusty but clean. All that is left is to declutter which I am working on.
I don’t know about you but when my living space is clear it makes me feel productive and fresh compared to busy and bothered when it is messy.
I am also working on this in other areas, such as food, stationery, and everything. I have made a new rule for myself unless it is a product or item you love, you are not allowed to stock up. Now that I am driving and working, nothing is stopping me from running to the shops if I do suddenly run out of something. Shall we get on with the empties?
Here goes, it is a mixture of hair products and skin care products:
Natur Vital Shampoo and Conditioner
L’Oréal Elnett Hair – Normal Strong
Right Guard Total Defence 5 Invisible
The Body Shop Hand Cream - Honey Mania and Shea
Origins Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturiser
The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water
No 7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover
Boots Time Delay Anti-Ageing Replenishing Eye Cream
Boots Botanics Refreshing Eye Roll-On
Natur Vital Shampoo and Conditioner
This was not very impressive in my opinion but to be fair, I did not use the product consistently. I used it in between my usual one, it is possible had I followed the instructions and used it regularly I might have seen a better result. It worked as shampoo and conditioner but there was nothing great about it, I do struggle with thinning hair and I haven’t yet seen or used a product that made a difference. If anyone knows good products for thin hair, please leave them in the comments I will try anything at this point. It grows extremely well, it is long and not a bad colour, but it doesn’t like staying in my head. I have been trying to keep it away from heat to improve its condition but no big improvement.
I didn’t buy these, it was a gift from a family member which I am thankful for. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any results. I would like to try it again and give it a proper go, using it without having breaks. In Boots, you can pick up these for a total of £20.19 which I think is a lot for shampoo and conditioner. I might repurchase, but I’m not 100% sure yet.
L’Oréal Elnett Hair – Normal Strong
This was also a gift, I don’t use a lot of hairsprays, but it is handy to have it around. One of this size lasts me a good year, sometimes two unless my mum steals it. When that is the case I am likely to have lost it forever. especially when my mum isn’t stealing it. Considering this, hairspray is hair pray for me. I only use it once in a blue moon so when I need one I just pick up the one on offer.
Going back to the product, I can honestly say I haven’t found a hairspray that didn’t work. If I was doing a big hairdo, then I might care but I just brush it or put it in a bun. I do have another one in my hair draw already which means a repurchase is not necessary. I believe it is Elnett, but I couldn’t tell you what kind. As this was a gift, I can’t tell you what was paid but I can tell you how much it is on a typical day. You can get the 400ml can for £6.70, forgive me but I have no clue if this is expensive for what product it is. To pick it up from Boots online follow this link in the button below.
Right Guard Total Defence 5 Invisible
This is the only deodorant that I have used for about 2 years if not longer. I can’t ever remember using others. I like this one because it doesn’t choke you, I am not asthmatic but some of them do get me. I have never had any issue with this one, it doesn’t have an overpowering scent, it lasts, the can lasts forever, and it’s not itchy, what’s not to love? I can’t say I have strong feelings for this product I mean it is a deodorant how much can you love a deodorant? It either works or it doesn’t, I suppose you might not like the scent. I do recommend trying it, everyone I know always steals it when they come to mine. It isn’t a bad price for the size of the product either.
I try to grab it while it is on offer but even paying full price isn’t bad because it lasts me 3 months or more. They have recently updated the packaging for this product, it used to be a straight cylinder, but it draws in now to make it easier to pick up. It is just £2 for a large can. You can grab it from Boots online at this link.
The Body Shop Hand Cream - Honey Mania and Shea
I have been on a mission lately to try and look after my skin which is failing a little, well a lot. I have got to be honest, I am not seeing any miracle changes. Although I could blame myself as I haven’t stuck to a great routine of applying which I am also working on. Recently. Because I haven’t seen a result I have kind of given up, I am fighting it and trying to keep applying. I am giving myself every opportunity but placing it close to where I sit and having it on my desk at work, in my handbag etc. Anyway, this hand cream smells good, in fact, no it smells amazing and has made me want to continue using it until I finished the product. This was my goal, I figured if I enjoyed the sent I am likely to use it. I like the size of this product because you can carry them in your handbag.
I would purchase this one again, I am not too fussy about the scents, so I would just grab the ones available at the time of purchase. They do 6 or 7 different scents and so far, I haven’t come across one I don’t like, my favourite so far is Moringa and Satsuma. If you would like to look at these yourself head to your The Body Shop store or follow this link below. You can get them in two sizes as well which is nice. My advice, grab a few small ones and pick a favourite before you go straight for the larger ones. They are £5 each for the small ones I believe but in my local store if you buy 4 you get 40% off.
Origins Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturiser
First things first, I enjoyed using this product. So much so that I have used two, well one and a half, I used one full size and one smaller size pot that I got in a Christmas set. I love the scent it has, the consistency and just the product in general. The scent is so refreshing, when you apply it in the morning it is almost a wake-up call, much needed most mornings. This product makes me want to apply the cream, every other cream I have found a chore to apply. I will be purchasing this one again without a question. Not straight away because I have a few bits to use up first and I have a small pot left so I am fully stocked now. I was hoping I wouldn’t enjoy this one as much as I do because it is not the cheapest of face creams you can find. As important as the skin you have is, you still must keep an eye on the bank account. Between the two of them, you need them both until you die so look after them well.
I am so glad that I finally got around to trying this product out, I honestly wouldn’t look back for one second. You can purchase this item in many places, online, Boots, John Lewis etc but I choose to shop at the Origins counter at John Lewis. Their customer service is brilliant. The 50ml pot is £25 which for the length of time it lasts is pretty good I think. When you buy it, doesn’t feel so good but it is worth it.
The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
I found this item by accident, I was walking around The Body Shop on my lunch break and found the odds and ends shelf. It had items that were either being discontinued, getting new packaging or just random items that haven’t sold and need to go. I can’t remember if is paid 50p or £2 I bought two items at the time and I have no clue which way round. Either way, they were a bargain. At the time, I wasn’t sure what this product was for, but I figured I will get it and google it when I get home as it was such a good deal.
Now, I couldn’t find this online and the pot didn’t give any instructions, so I just went with the flow and applied it daily. I believe it was just a moisturiser good for oily skin. I used this up quickly because I did like the product, but I am not sure if it was discontinued or the packaging changed, so I don’t know what product to repurchase.
If it is what I believe to be the Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream, I got a very good deal and I would like to try it again sometime to see if it is the same. The 50ml pot is £13, not bad. If you compare it to the Origins one, you half the price. I think I have linked the same one below but they have changed the name and the packaging so I can’t be sure.
Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water
I had this product for a while before I got to use it, but when I finally got around to using it, to be honest, it didn’t speak to me. I found it quite underwhelming, it worked but it didn’t have any star qualities, it didn’t stand out to me. Honestly, I can’t see how micellar water anything could be special, I mean it either removes makeup or it doesn’t. I suppose one that removes waterproof makeup could be star quality.
I would think the important question would be which of them is the most cost-effective. You can pay stupid amounts of money for them or you could pay little for them. Let me know which one you are currently using, I would be interested to try it out for a comparison. I won’t be repurchasing this purely because I have found one that works just as well and it is a better price, I don’t tend to stick to anyone I think I will just grab the one on offer. You could get this in most supermarkets and stores such as Boots or Savers. To grab it from Boots online click the link below.
No 7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover
I am not a huge fan of No 7 if I am being honest, I feel their products aren’t particularly good and the price is not exactly modest. I was given a voucher for the brand, so I thought I would give it a go, I mean why not, the best time to try a product is when it isn’t full price. This is the first product I have used to remove makeup that isn’t a packet of wipes. I haven’t found a brand of makeup wipes that have not affected my eyes at all. I never understood the bi-consistency products, are you supposed to shake them or what? In the end, I just ended up with an oil which I am guessing was meant to break down waterproof makeup. It completed the job, makeup did come off using this product however, it did leave a greasy film on my skin which was not pleasant. I don’t think I will be purchasing this once again, purely because I have got products that work the same and they are at a lower price. Another reason is I couldn’t find it on the Boots website. I found it on Amazon, but it was a little pricey. Right now, I am using some bits up and then I will be on the hunt for a new makeup remover if there is one you like. Please let me know I would love to try it out.
Boots Time Delay Anti-Ageing Replenishing Eye Cream
I bought this item last year, I had suffered an eye infection, quite a bad one. As a result, the skin under my eye was very red and sensitive. I wanted to try and improve this, so I took to Boots. I thought the best place to start would be to get some eye cream. I had no clue where to start, I thought to start with one of the cheapest products and work my way up until I find one that I like enough to buy it repeatedly. So, I started with this one. At first, I followed the instructions, and my skin didn’t get worse, but I also couldn’t see any improvement if I am being completely honest with you. It didn’t do what I wanted it to, in fact, I couldn’t see any difference while using this one. After a couple of weeks, I decided I would use it up and have a look for the next step.
In this instance I will not be repurchasing, I never actually finished the product. I got tired of trying to get it out of the bottle. I wouldn’t say it is a bad product, it didn’t work for me but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work for you. Again, I couldn’t find this on Boots online, so it has either been discontinued or the name has changed. I believe I paid £6 or £7 for it.
Boots Botanics Refreshing Eye Roll-On
If you have read this post until now, good on you and thank you. That means a lot. Anyway, if you have read the explanation for the eye cream above, you may be able to guess that this is the next product I tried. I preferred it to the cream, did I love it? No. If you would like to know more about my eye experience let me know and I will arrange a storytime post, it is sort of gruesome but could be helpful to prevent it from happening for you.
I do like how refreshing this felt, the metal roller ball felt cool on my soothing eyes. I did unfortunately not see a difference, it felt nice to apply but that was the extent of my experience. This I also didn’t finish because although it felt cooling, I couldn’t see a difference so what was the point? This would be a nice product to have over the summer so maybe grab yourself one next year as the heat hits. Let me know what you think if you remember. This product you can pick up in boots for £8.99.
