242 Buz Buz Buzz

You may be confused as to why this post is just called Buz Buz Buz. Well, I would say it is because I have been a very busy bee. I have been running around getting the last bits for Christmas, meeting friends to give them their presents, and wrapping presents for people who I won’t see on Christmas day. I even ended up doing a last-minute 4-hour car journey to pick a sister up as her lift let her down last minute.

That is what Christmas is all about, isn’t it? Running around with friends and family and just spending time together, well for most people. Not everyone has the pleasure of having friends and family over the Christmas period which is very sad. I’m sure by now you are sick and tired of hearing the word Christmas, or maybe you’re not, maybe you are still excited and enjoying yourself.

Since Christmas I have just been chilling out, enjoying the time I have with my family, speaking to friends and seeing friends. Over the past four years, I was generally working a lot of Christmas because shops tend to only be close on Christmas day. As a result, I usually had to work either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day and then the days before and after.

Now that I do not work in a shop, I get a bit more time off over Christmas which is kind of fun. In total, I get 6 days of work, but it works out as almost two weeks with the weekends. I did go in for half a day, but it was a casual day of work.

Christmas was a bit different this year because we had it boxing day. A member of my family spent the day working as they have the type of job that is 24 hours 7 days a week no matter what holiday it is. I thought this was a nice gesture because if I was in a situation where I need care or help on Christmas day, I’d like to think that someone would be willing to provide the help and care. I have the biggest respect for those human beings who give up their time on Christmas Day to work in a hospital or a care home.

Now, I was going to do a ‘what I got for Christmas post’ but when I thought about it, I just wanted to open and use my presents instead of taking images first. I wanted to be lazy as it is Christmas. I mainly got vouchers for presents because there is a set of face creams that I love but it is quite expensive, so I just ask for vouchers for my birthday and Christmas and save them for when it runs out. I am usually bad about applying skincare so getting something I like is a must which is why I am okay with spending the money on skin care. The one I like is all minerals which are super easy for your skin to absorb.

I am at that age where I would rather see friends and family and just have a laugh. I prefer to give presents than get them, I also love wrapping presents. I am a ribbon and bow type of person. I have an entire bag of bows. I search for presents that are specific to the person; I do get generic ones, for example, chocolate, alcohol, socks, and other random bits.

Let me know how your Christmas went, did you enjoy it? did you hate it? would you like to do it again tomorrow or do you patiently wait for it to come round again next year? Did you get a burnt dinner; did you forget something that was in the oven? What is something you love on Christmas day?
