90 Chocolate Face Mask

This is a face mask by Montagne Jeunnesse. The mask is made for cleansing pores. It is a self-heating sauna mask which sounds relaxing. DO NOT WEAR WHITE/ LIGHT COLOURS OR YOUR FAVOURITE TOP!

This mask is brown in colour, almost as if it could be the icing on a chocolate fudge cake. The second you open the packet you can smell the chocolate; it smells like you have just melted some chocolate for a bit of baking. Who doesn’t taste the melted chocolate from the baking bowl?

It is a clay formula, Mediterranean clay to be exact so if you have really sensitive skin, I will avoid this mask as the clay tends to be a little strong and can irritate your skin. Maybe try a little bit on your face or neck before going in with the entire mask all over your face so more or less play it safe.

The mask is suitable for people with normal skin, dry and combination skin. You can use this mask if you have sensitive because I do just be careful and if you are uncomfortable remove the product and place a cold compress over your face to lessen any reaction you might have. If you grow concerned with your reaction, take the product packaging with you and head to your nearest A&E.

It is a sauna mask, so the mask heats on contact with the skin, but doesn’t stay heated. The warm feeling only sticks around while the mask is being moved around on the skin as this probably causes the reaction which ends in the mask self-heating. When it is warm it is relaxing which is generally what you aim for when it comes to a face mask, isn’t it? As it is a heating mask it does melt down your face a little bit and drips a little so have a tissue ready to catch the fallout don’t have anything expensive like your brand-new iPhone or iPod nearby as you may get some mask on it.

When removing, don’t use your mum’s best white flannel as it can stain which I found out the hard way, use your hands to remove or a sponge that doesn’t matter if it stains or not. The smell of chocolate lingers after you have removed the mask which is nice as you can remain in your relaxed mode. After removal, my skin felt clean and fresh.

I would recommend this mask, maybe not be the best one if you are in a hurry or have very sensitive skin but otherwise, it works well. It is an enjoyable experience. I would repurchase and I am going to but probably more of a treat mask instead of regular use.
