To begin, I would like to mention that I got this as a free sample with my order. If I am honest, I didn’t need it, but I got it free, so you can’t argue. I mean, who doesn’t like free samples? I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this product is. I only got 3 or 4 uses out of the sample (more than I expected) but I liked it enough for me to want to purchase the full size. Just a heads up it is not cheap. The first time I went to buy it, I didn’t bother buying it from the Clinique website because it is quite a lot cheaper elsewhere.
I do like this product, well as much as you can like a sample as that’s all I have had a chance to use. So far, I like the gel it is refreshing and hydrating on an entirely new level. I try to use products in order of purchase, so they are least likely to go bad or get out of date. Although I have bought the full-sized version now, I will be using a few others before I get around to the full-sized product. You will probably think that creams don’t go out of date, which you are correct there is no date on them. However, if you have them for a long time, you will find that the ingredients will separate, and in my experience, I haven’t been able to use them after the ingredients have separated. If you look at the back of the packaging there is a picture of a little pot, on that, there is an amount of time, that is how long you should keep that product.
I liked this gel because it was so cooling on the skin and no greasy feeling you can get from other creams. It was a bit tacky as it was sinking into the skin but hey, I will take that over cream that sits on your skin looking shiny for a long time. I always find if it makes your skin feel greasy, I struggle to convince, myself to use it or I end up washing it off.
It doesn’t stay tacky for long which I also like. There are beads of some sort in the gel, I don’t know what they are for or if they do anything useful, to be honest, but the idea is interesting. It gives an innovative spin to the product, possibly making it more appealing. The beads disappear upon application, so they must do something I just don’t know what it is they do. If you know, please leave it in the comments below. It is a moisturiser, so you are probably waiting for me to tell you if it does its job aren’t you?
From my experience so far (using the tiny but very cute sample) my skin did feel fresh and moisturised. I would love to know the lasting effects of using this as a regular product in my mourning routine. My only worry is that it will need a couple of minutes to sink into your skin so I would have to switch up my morning routine around but that is a small price to pay. I will let you know how I get on; I have a few other moisturisers I want to use up first. Keep your eyes peeled, you never know when the follow-up review will arrive. But for now, I would recommend, that I will, and I have purchased the full-sized product.
