713 Coldness Has Hit

If you live in the UK, you will be aware that the cold weather has officially hit, windscreens are icy, the air is crispy, and the gloves and hats are out. The temperatures have hit the minus numbers which is a time of year I always dread.
If you know me, you will know I struggle with cold weather, I hate being cold and I am pretty much always cold. I tell people to compare me to a lizard, I need a heat lamp following me around everywhere. I don’t know why but every year I can’t remember it being this cold. I am constantly adding layers because I feel cold, I sometimes wear gloves without the fingertips inside my house over the winter months.
I’ve got every kind of wheat bag, cherry seed bags, fluffy socks, fleecy pyjamas, hot water bottles, dressing gowns, and various pieces of thermal clothing. I am not joking, you would think I live in Antarctica if you saw my wardrobe, even in the summer I get cold.
I think the worst thing about the winter is getting up in the mornings as soon as you move the covers you can feel the icy cold air and it just puts you off getting out of bed. I end up gathering some blankets and sitting under them while I do my makeup to keep warm and getting dressed turns into a race until you can put a blanket back around you.
I am aware that I don’t want the heating bill to go through the roof, so I try to mix putting the heating on and adding another blanket. Sometimes laying up is the key, only yesterday I was almost shivering but once I went to my drawers and put one t-shirt underneath my jumper, I was warm enough. Another thing I do when I am cold makes myself a big cup of tea or I simply get on my feet and do something. My rule is that there is always something that needs to be cleaned, and there is always something that can be organised.
Let me know what you do in the winter to keep your toes warm. If you have any tricks, I would love to hear them. Otherwise, have a good week and keep your eyes peeled for the next post.
