Just a note, unfortunately, the images in this post have corrupted and I no longer own the topcoat, so I am unable to retake them. Please forgive the 0-image post.
If there was anything ever that was worth the purchase this should be quite high on the list. I found this by accident when I went to a beauty show at my college. I didn’t plan on buying anything because I had decided that I wasn’t going to go into beauty and the course I was doing was just a steppingstone.
One thing that I was really into was painting my nails because I used to look after them and they would get long and were just something fun to change. I had recently been made aware that they do matte nail varnishes, and I had the opportunity to try one and I loved it!
I was pretty much going around all the nail stalls looking for a matte colour when I couldn’t find one and the lady behind the counter asked if there was anything she could help I asked about matte colours and she handed me this one. I was sold straight away. I got it half price I believe; it was about £6. This was about 5 years ago so sadly the colour has now all dried up and I have had to throw it away.
The is one reason I haven’t repurchased yet and it is purely that I am trying to cut down on the number of polishes that I have (I had more than 50, ridiculous), they were drying up before I got the chance to use them. I went through a phase where I wanted every Barry M nail polish, but I am over that now. To be honest, I haven’t been painting my nails as much now I am working full-time.
Once I have got the collection down to my staples, I plan to use up colours and then look for new ones because it is more ethical and cheaper. I will look into this again. I have done a quick google (as you do) and I was pleasantly surprised because the full price of this product now is £8.99, and you can buy it from Boots. In my head, it was £12 which I thought was a bit much for a topcoat. I mean if you are spending £20 on polish (including the colour of choice) and spending an hour or so doing it, I would rather pay £20 at a salon, and it will last the month.
Let me know if you have ever tried this one, I would love to try it again, it potentially has changed in the 5 years that I last purchased it, it looks like the packaging has changed so the formula might have. There are cheaper options out there, but I wouldn’t recommend one without trying it please if you do know a really good matte topcoat put it in the comments and I might give it a go.
