1203 Everything is going wrong!

Okay so a few things have happened to me in the past couple of weeks and I thought it would make a fun read for your lovely guys and girls. (Just as a little disclaimer, I am 100% looking at the brighter side of everything that has happened, I am not writing this post for sympathy or for others to feel bad for me. I am simply just hoping to make someone laugh with me).

Here is a little overview:

  • I have had an eventful start to my year if you would like more details, please read the previous post.

  • My holiday was cancelled (it was booked about 18 months ago)

  • I managed to get a cold (Yes, it was just a cold, nothing to worry about)

  • Work got busy (unexpectedly)

  • My cat got injured and cost me money being treated by a vet.

I am not going to go into too much detail for the first point because I have done an entire post on it. The overview of that is, that I quit my job because they treated their employees awful (The police had to get involved) and I now have a new job which is a much nicer environment.)

Point 2, I should be in France right now on a river cruise! My grandparents surprised me about 18 months ago with this holiday. It was supposed to be a treat from them to me, so I am gutted for them. There is nothing worse than trying to surprise something and it is going wrong. Right now (March 23rd) I should be in Cadillac, France, seeing the Chateau d’Arche (Sauternes), viewing Cadillac Castle, cruising the Garonne River, and cruising the Dordogne River. Instead, I am at home reading about it, concerned that food may run out, finding things to do, and tidying up while I am at home.

Can I just say, it is very odd to plan to be out of the country and then not be out of the country? I hadn’t planned to have much food in the house, I had put some money to the side to change into Euro, I had bought some travel bits which I had put aside which I don’t need now etc. It is a very strange thing to have to unplan something. I have never had to unplan something before. There are more important issues in the world right now I am just experiencing something new.

Point 3, now it is no secret that I don’t have the best of luck when it comes to illness. I have never had something permanent that needs regular treatment I just seem to be the first person in the house to catch something. To be honest, I am not personally scared or worried now which I think stems from my experience with illness. I am such a get-on-with-it type of person that I don’t think it will phase me if I do catch it. I will just deal with it as I do with every other illness, do you know what I mean? So, the day I woke up with a cold, I grabbed a box of tissues out of the cupboard, took paracetamol to keep the symptoms at bay and got on with it. Please do NOT take this light-heartedly, I am still washing my hands, keeping my distance, and only leaving the house when necessary.

Point 4, okay so I am pretty sure workplaces as a general are up in the air now. No one knows what to do, what is going to happen and the best course of action. There is no right or wrong answer. If everyone is safe, careful, and caring we will get through this. Currently, my workplace is remaining business as usual, but we are being vigilant. Which is all that is required. Clean your desks, clean your hands before and after you eat etc. Work together, stop being selfish, and this will all blow over (I think). This is my opinion only.

Point 5, on Friday I came home from work. My cat was limping, to make matter worse he was limping on the leg that he broke as a young kitten. I am a bit of a sucker when it comes to animals, and I cannot stand it when I see one in any pain. His name is Tilly, and he didn’t know what to do with himself. I just tried to make him comfy, but it was hard work. He was just sitting there growling because he didn’t know how to get comfortable and was struggling to move around because of his poorly paw. I stayed up until about 3 am checking on him and setting everything up for him such as food and water, looking for the litter tray etc.

When we got him to the vet the next day, we were very happy to hear that it was not a broken bone! It was an infected bite. So, a vet bill later we have him home and drugged up. Luckily, he is improving, still limping but he is putting a bit of pressure on it on and off. I think it gets a bit sore after using it, so it makes sense.

They say it happens in three’s, does that mean I am an overachiever (with 4), or does it mean I have a second set of three on its way?

I wanted to close off on a positive note. As I am supposed to be in France, I now have free annual leave to take. This gives me time to sort my stuff out and continue clearing my room out. Do a bit of writing, look after my cat, save on petrol and I get to be unsociable for a week. All those things that you have been meaning to do but using the “I’m too busy” excuse, well you haven’t got that excuse now because you are home and nothing to go out for (apart from food).

I do hope everyone is safe and healthy and if you are bored. Comment below. Let us know what you are up to.
