Oh my, I love it. I love it before I even used it. I have never known a clay face mask to be so smooth and easy to apply. Usually, they are quite thick, and you must work with them to spread them over your face evenly it just takes the relaxation out of it really if I am honest.
This mask is a cream which is ridiculously easy to apply to your face. It took me about 30 seconds to do a decent coat around my face. I use a mask brush which keeps it a bit cleaner. I hate it when the mask gets all over my hands and then you must try to turn the tap on to wash your hands and it just gets everywhere. It’s not a pretty sight, is it? It takes the relaxation out of the mask if you must spend 10 minutes cleaning it off everything after. I also really like how dark this is, usually, they are a medium grey colour but this one is dark and just looks very luxurious.
When you apply this mask you can feel a bit of tingling, nothing too bad but you feel it working and I enjoy having the cooling or tingling feeling as you can tell it is doing something and not just sitting on your skin then. With another clay mask, it usually says to leave it on for anywhere between 5 – 20 minutes, this one says 5 – 10 minutes. I usually leave it on for anything up to 45 minutes. It depends on when I do it, I try to pick evenings where I don’t have anywhere to go, and I can just sit wearing the mask while watching a movie or something.
With setting masks like this one, I try to leave them on until it has completely dried to get the most benefits out of the product. I find it helpful when they change colour as they are drying, for example, this clay mask is quite a deep grey colour but when it dries it goes lighter and matte, and it helps to know when it is ready to take it off. I am very impressed with this mask straight off the bat, I believe this is their first range of face masks and they have done it well and they did it in style. I love the packaging, which is classic L’Oréal packaging, I like that they have a lid, but they also have a seal, so the product doesn’t dry out like the previous face masks I have used.
The pot says that it will cover 10 masks, I think it will do more than that for me, but it depends on how much you apply and how big your head is. I have quite a small head, so I usually get an extra mask or two out of tubes or pots. This is where I appreciate the seal on the product. It does dry quickly on your face, but the thicker you apply the longer it will take to try. I did apply a thick layer however with this mask it would be super easy to do a thin layer if you were in a hurry.
Overall, I liked this product; I will be repurchasing this one when I get through the one, I have got. I will recommend everyone to give this a go as well. It is such a nice product. You can get cheaper £1 ones from boots, but you generally only get one use out of them. It is better money-wise to get a pot like this one.
You can get this product in most supermarkets. I picked up mine in my local Superdrug for £7.99.
