The beauty browsing trip started in Covent Garden. Thought I would share the few things I bought so that if you are wanting to try these out you can look out for a review and see if you still want to go for it.
Had a good long look around a big M.A.C shop and compared all the different products. I wanted to buy most of the shop, but I refrained from buying any skin products as it would mean that I had to take all my makeup off and then redo it and if I am honest, I couldn’t be bothered as my skill has been breaking out lately as well so the fewer times, I apply makeup the better.
So, I thought lipstick would be a good product to look at as I wasn’t wearing anything on my lips. I tend to stick to lip balm when it comes to lips, I’m not a massive fan of lipstick but I want to try out and experiment with lipstick so I can help my future clients with it hopefully.
I was looking at all the different types of sating from matte to frost etc. I don’t currently have any M.A.C lipsticks so I am starting with a lovely blank canvas. I suit dark brownish lipstick, so I was looking at all those types of lipsticks. After testing every brownish lipstick on the back of my hand I found one I like which was a cream sheen one. I have heard a lot about the cream sheen collection so when I found a colour that I liked, I wanted to get it instantly.
The colour I choose was a crème in your coffee. It is a soft brown with a slight shine to it but no glitter or shimmer. So, after I had found one, I liked I headed to the checkout and discovered I get a discount as I am a makeup artist in training. The original price of the lipstick is £15.50 I am 99% sure. I only paid £10.50. It is still a little pricy but the M.A.C products have a very high reputation for being quality products so if you can afford them give it a go.
Then I went and had a look on screen face where I didn’t buy anything because nothing stood out to me saying buy me like the lipstick above did so I took note of some of the comparison prices but that is it.
Lastly, I went into boots there were two things I wanted which were the L’Oréal Infallible 24-hour Matte Foundation as I have heard a few things about it being good and if you are oily Matte foundation is pretty much a lifesaver speaking beauty. There were only found colours available in the store I went into so I picked up the lightest one and put it in my basket, I cannot wait to try this out, the coverage is said to be high so could be a good one for parties or interviews etc. Also, the price for this is only £2.99 so a good price for the foundation and it has many good reviews already.
The next thing I wanted was the Maybelline gel eyeliner in black. When I arrived at the stand, I noticed that it was new packaging (I haven’t bought this for a while so it may not be very new now) so I picked up one of those in black. I do have a review so I would add the link at the bottom of the page to that if you wanted to have a read but it does say that it has a new formula and a new brush so I may have to update that review if there is an improvement. I did think it was pretty good eyeliner anyway, so I am interested to find out what’s new and or what’s changed. This eyeliner is in the middle price range at £7.99. It lasts forever though which is good but remember Makeup does go out of date so keep an eye on that especially as it is going on your eyes.
I wasn’t planning to get anything else but there is a 3-for-2 deal on makeup at boots so if you can pop in you could end up saving a lot. I decided as I had two things in my basket to purchase it would be still not to get the third. I couldn’t think of anything I needed but there was something I had wanted to try for a long time which is the Dream Satin Foundation by Maybelline, so I picked that up as well. Again, this is a good price at £7.99.
A tip for when there is a 3 for 2 deal on, a lot of people fall into the trap of getting two of their expensive items and then picking a £1 mascara up, NO you want to get something of the same value so you can save money.
