2329 Making the most out of it…

Now, there are not many people that I know of that will tell you that they love the month of January. There is so much going on. The weather is typically dull, wet, and cold in the UK which just isn’t fun. I know we need rain to grow crops and important ingredients, but it’s just not fun for everything else. People have to play catch up with bills etc because of Christmas. A lot of people have extra rubbish to deal with, extra items to find homes for within their home (the gifts they got).

So overall, it’s a bit of a boring month, the weather isn’t particularly kind and people are trying to get back into their normal routines.

I have said this quite a few times, however, I have been on a mission to use up things I have been collecting over the years, free samples, gifts of products and all other kinds. I’m attempting to declutter (not very successfully) but the main goal is for everything I own to have a set place where it lives instead of just hovering around my room where I never know where to put it or where to find it.

I am now seeing bits of progress here and there. I am trying to be very conscious of my purchases and where that purchase going to go and if I need them or have space for it. I would like to be minimalist, but I just think that is never going to happen to me.

I will say, that now that 99% of my belongings are sorted, have a permanent home and it makes it 100 times easier to keep clean/tidy. I have felt much better. I don’t feel so flustered or suffocating. I HATE it when you have things pilled up and you have to either step over to get pasted or move things out of the way to get into a draw.

So… what is the point of this post you may be asking…

Well, I wanted to encourage everyone who is not enjoying their January this year to set a goal and tidy up something. It doesn’t matter if you pick your whole house (although… remember the best reward is achieving a goal), it could be the smallest room in your house/flat, or perhaps just one draw within a room in your house. Just pick something once a week this month and sort it out, tidy it up. If you do not feel better once, you have done this… I don’t know what to tell you.

Taking the time this month to give everything a home has improved my daily life. My daily cleaning routine, getting ready in the morning, getting the laundry done, and playing with my two cats. Everything is just much easier and simpler when your space is clearer.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on. Feel free to message me through my contact page, or simply comment below. Good Luck! Let’s make the most of this dull boring January!
