200 Possible Nightmare!

Over the past 6 months, I have had messages on all my accounts from banking, social media, online stores, retail shops, and everything! They all told me there was weird activity and that I should change my password. I had to get the 2-step verification on some of them. It was getting annoying, every time I go to sign on it tells me that the account is locked or that I need to change my password. It worked out that in the end, I had no clue what the password was because it was changed so often that I would have to change it again.

I am not 100% sure but I think my laptop got hacked in the process; I got a lot of strange things happening. It suddenly was running slowly. The internet would be connected but it wouldn’t open any websites. Items on my desktop would move around or some disappeared. I ran a virus scan several times and it said it was clear. I later discovered that my firewall was turned off, I had internet security on the laptop, and it was deleted or disabled. I then tried running more scans on my laptop and the scans wouldn’t finish, to begin with, and then it wouldn’t start. The final straw was, late one night I was using my laptop; I decided that it was time to go to bed. I closed everything and the picture on my background had changed. At first, I thought it was a bit weird, possibly a setting malfunction or the laptop had crashed. So, I went to see if the background that was being used was on my computer and it wasn’t.

I swiftly turned the laptop of; first thing in the morning I turned it on and backed up all my documents, music, pictures, and everything personal to me that I did not want to lose. Then deleted the lot and reinstalled windows. Luckily my bank account did not get accessed.

It took me about a month to get all my settings back, re-download and install everything that was on the laptop. Some of the apps wouldn’t install properly so I had to work out bugs and how to install the items. I had to go and buy an external disk player because the one on the laptop didn’t work.
