629 Random Beauty Haul – Running Errands

I don’t know about you but every 6 months or, so I end up with a list of random items that I need to get. You know the items that you don’t typically pick up regularly, or you get them from a shop you don’t regularly go past. I try to save repurchasing until I am going for more than one thing, it seems a waste of time going to a shop for just one item.

Anyway, this weekend I had the chance to go to the shops and grab the random bits. So, I thought I would share these items with you.

In total there are 8 items, they are:

  1. Batiste Dry Shampoo

  2. Superdrug Metal Free of Metal Hair Bands

  3. Various Stick-on False Nails

  4. Elegant Touch Nail Glue

  5. L’Oréal Paris 460 Cherry Red Non-Permanent hair dye

  6. Real Techniques Sponges

  7. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

  8. Collection Lasting Perfection

As you can tell from the title that are various types of items in this haul. I just had a week where I needed to pick up the items I have run out of and do a restock really.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I don’t know about you, but I have found that this is a time saver. If you know me, you will know my hair is long. Washing my hair is a task, I love my hair but washing it, I just don’t like doing it. Also, with long hair, it is better to let natural oils look after your hair. I tend to go a day or two with applying this before I wash it. Once this is in, stick your hair in a bun and no one will know you are due to a wash.

I am quite new to dry shampoo; I have only recently started using it more. Mostly because the first time I used dry shampoo it made my hair grey (because I didn’t realise that it comes in different shades). It put me off using it for a while. I also have a small issue with the fact that I dye my hair red, I haven’t seen a red dry shampoo yet. If you know of one, please do let me know. This time I didn’t purchase this because I was running out, I purchased it because I was going away for five days, and I didn’t want to take a full-sized one. I picked up a smaller one, so it used up less space in my case.

A little tip if you are going away and there is a product you use daily. Buy a new one to take with you. Or leave the new one at home, whichever way you want to do it. By doing this, if you lose your luggage or it doesn’t fit in your case, so you must chuck it away, you know you have one at home still ready for work the next day.

Superdrug Metal Free of Metal Hair Bands

I discovered this purely out of curiosity. It took me a minute to realise they are having scans that you must have no metal, for example, an MRI. I am not sure why, but I like these for my hair. I have had others use them and they have asked me where I got them. For a hairband, they are good. You can get them in brown or black, they are not a bad price and are often on offer. I don’t think I have ever paid full price for them. They last a good time as well. I often keep one on my wrist for anywhere between 3-6 months. They are a little tight at first but after a couple of uses, they are very comfortable. I don’t think I will ever stray from them.

Various Stick-on False Nails

I had an event to go to (sorry, I am behind on these posts because I have had a busy couple of months). When I have an event, I try to use these because chipping nail polish would ruin the event for me. These can’t chip, they could fall off but that is why you keep the glue in your handbag.

Now, I used to go to Boots and spend ages trying to pick ones to wear (as they are quite pricey), but if you do what I did this time and go to Savers they are on average £2 for one set. This meant, I went crazy and got quite a few sets of nails for a couple of reasons. One, because I didn’t know the style that would go with my outfit (because I didn’t have one yet) and two because my mum was going to be wearing a set as well and again, I didn’t know which ones she would like to wear.

Elegant Touch Nail Glue

I purchased this because I thought it would be handy to have this in my bag (the little tubes that come with the nails tend to just be enough to apply the settings and if you do have more the cap isn’t quite airtight after use, so it dries, and you can’t use it again. I also like that this came with a stand, how many times I have put the little tubes down and they roll on the floor then you must get them, so the glue doesn’t go on the carpet, or it rolls under your cabinet etc. It also said strong on the label, and I needed the nails to stay put for at least three days so with this I felt confident I wouldn’t have any issues.

L’Oréal Paris 460 Cherry Red Non-Permanent Hair Dye

I don’t know what you think, but for me, this is such a nice red. It’s not too dark but it isn’t too bright either, it is a nice happy medium. I am yet to find another one that is quite the same. I haven’t found a nice red other than this one, I mostly do the hair dye myself purely because I think the price of salons is ridiculous. The hair dye costs me a tenner, a salon will cost you upwards of £80-£100 or more. I understand that it is the products, and it is nice to sit and have your hair done but I would much prefer to keep hold of the money for important things. I will eventually let a professional do my hair but for right now I am happy to do it myself.

Real Techniques Sponges

Okay, if you haven’t used one yet, get your bum out of your chair and go straight to the shop and buy one. I would never go back to brushing; brushes just seem to take forever for me now. I quickly give up and go back to the sponge. I would say you can get 6-9 months out of each one if you keep it clean. I always keep two because now and then my cat finds it and I come home to orange bits all over my floor. It is also better to get the packet that comes with two sponges because it is a better price.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

If you don’t know already, where have you been? This is my favourite mascara; I have used it for years. I like the packaging, I like the formula, I like the wand, it is just the perfect mascara for me. I have done a full review which I will leave a link below.

Collection Lasting Perfection

Again, I also love the product and have for a while. I don’t remember using a different one as my default. I have a few that I use now and then but this is pretty much my staple. I particularly like the fact they just introduced more shades. I have either already written a review or it is on my to-do list.
