Have you ever thought about trying to find the best makeup brushes? Let me guess, you wouldn’t know where to start. I know I wouldn’t know where to begin I mean there are hundreds of them, literally hundreds of thousands of different kinds and brands of brushes. I also don’t have the means to experiment with the more expensive brushes. I mean you can put up to £60 for one brush for some brands. This is not necessarily a bad thing; it is just a lot of money to not know if you are going to like it.
Jessica recently got in touch with Reviews.com. She asked me if I would share her and her team’s hard work with you guys. Firstly, I should tell you, that Jessica took the time and effort to research the best makeup brushes on the market.
Jessica and her team at Revews.com took the time to pick 16 of the most popular makeup brands, for each of the brands they took five brushes, a few of the brands include Tom Ford, Real Techniques, MAC, E.L.F and more. As well as picking the makeup brushes to experiment with they spoke to dermatologists (skin specialists) and makeup artists.
A handy tip they include from the one and only Katya Gudaeva (Makeup Artist) is as follows: “If you could choose to use brushes, I would say you need five for an everyday natural look: foundation, powder/blush, eyeshadow (two sizes) and eyeliner.
In the write-up of their research, they include information on cruelty-free makeup brushes and how you can wash your brushes, we all know we don’t wash them often enough. I can honestly say with my makeup brushes I am lazy about keeping them clean.
The team concluded the top 4 brands of makeup brushes, well 3 with an extra tight budget one (which is the one I will be using, at least to begin with). To read which brands they found to be the best and trail their research journey, please follow the link below.
As a makeup artist, I haven’t experimented with many different makeup brushes. I have mostly used Real Techniques and Kryolan. Out of the brushes I have used I prefer the Real Techniques ones; I love their handles. I get RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury)/Carpal Tunnel in my wrists which makes it difficult to hold makeup up brushes, pens, hairbrushes and more sometimes. Real Techniques tend to have bigger handles than your average handle which is why I like them.
Please feel free to let me know if you check out their review of the best makeup brushes or leave your opinions below.
