I thought it was about time I gave you all an update, either on this blog, life or just in general. Just a little chat to go through everything. A lot has happened since I last updated you. I can’t remember when it was so it must be a while.
You may have noticed that I have been quiet lately, I have no excuses, but I do have a reason. I tried doing a bit of work on this blog, trying to make it better. I was organising the Domain and it turned out to be a lot trickier than I thought. Unfortunately, that meant the blog was down and it ended up being down for quite some time when it wasn’t meant to be. I spent most evenings trying to organise it and get it up and running for you which meant I didn’t have much time for anything else. I finally got it up and running fully after about 3 weeks of on and off. Let’s just say it gave me a headache or two and maybe a couple of late nights.
You may have heard of constructive criticism, it is hard to come by, but it is great to receive it. It can be super helpful when it is done correctly and unbiasedly. I find you always get the best results from constructive criticism because it brings up everything that you would not have thought about. Usually, you can build on constructive criticism as well because it is a snowball effect. Try not to ignore feedback, you don’t have to agree with it but at least consider it. Try it out, you can always go back if it doesn’t work out, but it is better to say you tried it. I have been finding it difficult to get decent feedback because your friends and family want to say it is good but when someone does get critical it gives you an outside perspective to work on.
Looking at a life update, I got older since the last one. Unfortunately, I sort of missed my birthday this year. I was sick so I just chilled in bed, work even sent me home. My family were good they were more than happy to postpone the celebrations until I felt better. I just had a quiet takeaway when I felt a bit better. It was nice Chinese. I don’t know about you, but I am happy to just have a quiet meal for my birthday, I can’t be bothered to get dressed up and get people to the restaurant. If you just have a takeaway at home people can turn up in the PJs if they want to. What is your go-to birthday celebration? Have you ever been sick on your birthday?
Other than that, I bought myself a birthday present this year. I have bought myself a new workstation, a desk, a chair, a lamp, and a rug. I have wanted and needed a new desk for years. The current one (my old one) was wobbling so much that a gust of wind could have taken it out. I did have it for 10-11 years, so it did its time. I think it was only £40-£60. I don’t think the price of something determines how well it will last, it might change the finish of the item. A cheaper item might not have a perfect finish etc but if you look after it then it should last. I can safely say that I made the right decision because I love my new desk, it is beautiful! I have been showing everyone possible, showing it off and shouting about it. (maybe bragging a little bit). The desk is lovely solid wood. My dad is a carpenter so I must be picky about the wood, he will tell me if he didn’t like it.
I will do a full desk tour, haul type thing because I have decked it out with a chair and a bin etc. Let me know below if that is something you would be interested in.
Work is going well; it is very busy, but I think we are finally getting back on top of everything. We have had a couple of technical difficulties, with emails going wrong and things being missed etc.
Olive and Willow are doing well and getting so big (they are my tortoises). Olive has quite the story which I will let you in on when I get the chance to do it justice. I am trying to improve my writing, so I am planning a bit more than I used to.
Right, I am going to leave it at that, I wish you all a great October. Good Luck!
