I have trouble with any concealer under my eyes as I am very fair-skinned and quite oily, so cream concealer is probably not the best idea for me. For application, I tried a few different ways, well two different ways. I tried with my fingers but then you end up adding more oil unless your hands are 100% squeaky clean and it can end up getting a bit messy unless you have a wipe available to clean your hands. The second application method I use was brushes; it was a little bit easier for getting it where I wanted it as your fingers are not the right shape for getting right in your tear duct. I would say each method works kinda the same, it depends on the occasion for the application technique. Every day, I just use my fingers for quickness but if it is a party then I try and use brushes, so I don’t get any makeup on my dress or whatever.
The lasting power of this concealer is average, it isn’t one you can rely on to work all day but for dinner or lunch, it would work great, or even if you’re just popping to the shops. For me about 4 hours maybe 5 I will have to have a bathroom break and reapply. I do have oily skin though so it may stay better for something with dry skin.
It doesn’t quite match up to what it says on the tin for me, it could be different for others as they will have different skin to me. It claims to be the “perfect under-eye concealer”. I think it is a little too thick for under the eyes; it also takes a good amount of powder to set so it can end up looking cakey or on the other hand, it will crease.
What makes this concealer different to others typically seen in shops like Boots and Superdrug is that it is a thick cream consistency, similar to camouflage makeup. This packaging is slim, and it is fairly small so good for travelling or keeping in your purse. It is a unique product in every way.
My first impressions were sceptical as it was my first time using a product like this and it was a new product so no reviews. I didn’t know what to expect apart from hearing someone else’s opinion on it from YouTube. The review on YouTube is what drove me to buy it as she was happy with the product and it’s not a bad price. By itself, it is £5.49.
I can’t say I would race to the shop to repurchase this product due to me not getting on as well as hoped, I would recommend it if you are on a budget because it does work and is a good concealer but it will need to be re-applied and set well so a loose powder should also be in your makeup collection for this product.
Overall, I would say, it does its job, not ideal for under your eyes if you have oily skin but perfect for popping on if you are leaving the hours for five minutes etc. Let me know how you get on.
