132 Summer Products

Many people do not think about changing the products they use when the season change. Others do it without thinking. This week have a little think about the products you have been using. Today I am going to highlight a few things I change as the summer is beginning to make an appearance in England.

Products to Consider:

  • SPF

  • Moisturiser

  • Bronzer

  • Foundation

SPF

English people are notorious for letting their skin burn the second the sun shows its face. It is important to use SPF all year round but particularly in the summer when the sun is a lot more prominent and likely to burn you.

I have ad have always had extremely pale skin, so I live in factor 50 sun cream, especially if I go on holiday to a destination such as Spain or France. As well as using SPF remember to look after yourself, although your skin is protected with SPF, make your way inside now and then otherwise you will end up with heat stroke.

Also, remember that you can use all the creams on your face so make sure you have one safe for your face. As much as everyone hates the stickiness of sun cream it is important to use it and protect your skin from the harsh rays.

Lastly, what many people forget is that you must top up your sun cream, don’t quote me but I think you are supposed to apply more every 3-4 hours. Or at least that is what I do.

Moisturiser

Now, this is a difficult one because when you find a moisturiser that works for you it is hard to give it up and search for another one, this is not a vital change for summer, but you could benefit from using a lighter moisturiser during the day for the summer months.

Summer usually makes people swear but, you want your pores to be open and not blocked with a thick moisturiser. Maybe try a serum as it is a loose consistency and is not likely to block your skin. A gel would also work as they are super moisturising but not think resulting in minimal blocking risks. Before changing, check the label of your current moisturiser as it may be perfect for summer without changing. You want to look for water or aqua in the ingredients and that is hydrating.

Bronzer

You gotta have a little bit of bronzer in the summer, the main time of year you can get away with overusing your favourite bronzer. Also, if you get the right one with a tan it really brings out the nice glowing colour of your skin.

Some people go overboard and look like they have dipped their face in wotsits so be careful, we are going for a tanned glow, not orange chic. I must admit I don’t really use bronzer as they are all too dark for my morbidly pale skin. If you know any that are great for people with skin like mine, please do tell me!

Bronzer is 100% more accepted in the summer, you can even get makeup bronzer for your arms and legs now! Just remember it is something else on your skin potentially clogging your pores so maybe it is a special occasion option not for everyday use.

Foundation

You want to look at the ingredients and see what it is made of because a water-based product is the best for those hot (warm for England) summer days.

You may want to ditch the foundation altogether and go for a nice BB cream or just a light foundation. I know I struggle to keep the foundation looking nice all day when I am hot and bothered. Humidity is always annoying when you want to have a good makeup day. You walk out of the door and the environment just doesn’t want to let you have your nice foundation day.
