When it comes to applying makeup, I previously avoided doing anything to my lips. I preferred to spend my time playing around with my eyes looks. Never really cared what my lips looked like, I didn’t really like lipstick and lip gloss never lasted so I just used to apply lip balm instead. I mean all I wanted was a little shine on my lips and lip balm met my expectations. At least it gave you a benefit other than just looking nice. It is also easier to apply without having a mirror on hand which is also a bonus to wearing it instead of coloured lip products.
As I decided that I was going to be a makeup artist it was clear that I was going to have to start experimenting with lip products. You can’t really be a makeup artist if you don’t know what lipstick to use. I don’t have to wear it but I have to know how to apply it and what looks good. I gathered that is it better to play with colours on myself, although I believe I don’t suit many colours, it was better that I stain my lips bring green than someone else’s.
After trying a few different lipsticks, I came across Revlon Balms one day and decided to go for it. The one I bought, every time I have applied it I have taken it off almost straight away, the colour is terrible on me. It looks like a nude but when it is applied it appears orange on me. It was one of the most matte shades out of the six available at the time. I found it clings to any dry skin and accentuates any lines you have. I’ve had the product for well over two years now and have never worn it for longer than 30 seconds.
I wouldn’t say it is a terrible product, but it did stop me from buying any more of the collection, it just didn’t work for me. Let me know if you have tried the product and what you thought of it. I have no idea what I spent on it but it is currently on sale for £7.99. The description I just read said it gives a velvety finish. I wish you luck! It is the Revlon Colourburst in 230 Complex.
