Good evening, everyone! Can you believe we are coming up on a third of the way through 2024? (I could have just said, we are a quarter of the way through, but that’s boring).
So… how ya been? Are ya good? Are ya bad? Are you pleading insanity yet?
I’ve had a go at pleading insanity, but they told me I wasn’t bad enough. (100% joking for anyone who didn’t catch my sarcasm).
Anyway, I keep meaning to share with you something I started during the Pandemic (I know I know, that’s in the past now), but I broke my ankle and ran out of things to watch so I decided I wanted to start knitting.
Now, I did a quick Google into wool, needles, yarns, and skeins, got overwhelmed and confused and then I gave up. I am the type of person who doesn’t love a “kit”. I didn’t particularly want to buy a starter kit because I prefer to make things unique. If I buy a ‘kit’ I’ll be making something that 400 other people have made and that’s boring.
Anyway, it ended up my aunty sent me a little ball of wool and 4mm metal knitting needles. So, for the next week, I was just knitting, unravelling, knitting etc and trying different stitches, until I had un-done the wool so much that it had separated.
I knitted a small rectangular/square-looking mini blanket and I labelled it Willow’s blanket. (Willow is my tortoise who likes to hide in slippers and under cushions).
Here is a little video of what it looked like.
