Well, hello, good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to anyone and everyone wherever you are that have come here today to spend some time reading. You could choose to spend your time doing absolutely anything else, but you have chosen to spend your time here with me and for that, I want to say Thank You, and Welcome.
If you are a regular around here, you will know that I do a bit of knitting. You may have read my previous post about Soph ‘n’ Stitch. If not, and you would like to read about it. Here is the link:
Cutting to the chase… I have got the knitting bug again. My wool collection is growing, and I have nowhere to put the wool. It is currently just sitting on my bedroom floor in bags because it doesn’t fit anywhere else. With wool staring at me on a daily basis, I am on a mission to get stuck in and start using it up.
I decided that this year I was going to be knitting a few of my Christmas gifts. I like the idea of spending time making a nice Christmas gift for someone where you picked the colours, and hope you picked the correct colour.
A couple of people that I know have announced a pregnancy, so I have made them baby hats as a gift. Feedback from a couple of people has said that they liked the hats, and I should sell my work. This is a really nice compliment, and it makes me feel good that they liked their gift that much that they thought it was worth the money. I have sold a couple of hats here and there, mostly to friends, or made them as gifts for friends, my nephew has got the bulk of my knitting work.
Keep this in mind, we are going to go slightly off-topic for just a minute.
While I was teaching myself how to knit during the pandemic, something else blew up during the pandemic. You might know it… it is called Tik Tok. Now, don’t get me wrong, at first, I didn’t really get the hype. And then I started watching and ended up awake at 4 am. During my night’s scrolling, I came across a lovely young woman called Liv. She is such a lovely person. One thing led to another, and I soon learnt that she is brilliant with wool. Her crochet projects are so adorable and cute.
Liv speaks about her crochet projects and her Etsy shop on her Tik Tok. So, I decided I would have a look. Her work is beautiful. The colours are adorable, the animals are so cute, the wool is super soft, and I want everything she has made so far. I would like to encourage you all to go and check out her Etsy. The love and attention she put into her work deserve as much attention as we can give.
The link to her Etsy is:
(Just a little disclaimer, she is aware I am sending you all her links and I hope it gets her some more sales, but make sure you leave one for me to buy).
If you would like to find her on Tik Tok, type in the search bar “medically.liv”.
You are probably asking yourself “Why are you telling me about a tiktoker called Liv”.
Well… I am telling you about Liv because she is the inspiration/motivation and reason I even decided to get my knitting and put it on Etsy. It is all her fault! I blame her 100%. (In a good way of course). I have been meaning to try and sell my knitting bits and bobs for a while, but I just never did. I procrastinated and stopped knitting for about a year.
With encouragement from family, friends and Liv showing off her work, I finally went and set up my Etsy shop. If you would like to search for it for yourself the name on Etsy is called "sophnstitch".
This is the link:
It definitely needs a lot of work, I currently only have one item available for purchase, but if you give me a bit of time, there will be more sizes, more colours, and eventually different items available.
I will say now that I only have a couple of projects left that are on a time frame. So, I do have a couple of weeks free for any Christmas requests. If you would like to grab yourself a hat as a gift for Christmas, send me a message and I am happy to see what I can arrange for you.
An adult hat takes me roughly a week to complete. So, the last Christmas requestion is probably around the 10th of December, depending on the size, the colour and where the hat would need to get to.
Right then, please go and spread some love on Liv’s shop and tik tok! And hopefully, I will see you all soon over my Etsy.
Any feedback welcome.
