203 To Buy or To Not Buy?

Does anyone else find choosing new makeup products daunting? Don’t get me wrong, I love looking at makeup, reading about it and finding new things but I hate buying new makeup. I always worry that if I don’t like it or it is the wrong colour then you have pretty much wasted the money you spent.

It feels like a gamble because if you try it out and don’t like it you can’t take it back, or in the places that I have bought makeup in the UK, you can’t return make-up. There must be millions of makeup products wasting away collecting dust in the back of a cupboard.

I struggle to buy for this reason, because I always go into Superdrug or Boots to get makeup and I either don’t find things that I like, or I don’t know if I am going to like it so I leave it because I can’t afford to throw money away on products that might never get used. I also tend to stay away from things that I know I am not very experienced in using such as felt or liquid eyeliners. I can never seem to use them; I have bought a couple over the years, and I haven’t liked any of them.

How do you decide if you buy a makeup item? Do you just get it and hope for the best, do you ask around your friends, wait for someone you know to mention it and ask them what they think?
