131 VO5 Gel Spray Review

I got this product purely because I thought it was a better/stronger version of hairspray. I’m not too sure why. You may know I completed a course in hair and beauty at college. Throughout that year I was using gel spray on many different looks and it was working really well.

I really liked using it at college, especially when doing weird and creative looks or even just a simple brain because I really helped with the fly-away hairs or hair that just didn’t do what you wanted it to do. The thing with me and if you know me you should know this, is I don’t like putting things on my hair when styling it.

A can of hairspray tends to last a good 2-3 years longer if my family didn’t steal it while I’m not looking but I only ever use products when I am going to an event or a party. This gel spray was a bit too sticky for me; a bit too thick and just wasn’t my cup of tea. It is a great product and probably works if you use it correctly but being me, didn’t want to use it a lot, so it didn’t last long. I find with hair products when they are cheap they don’t work, work really badly or last five minutes

This fact applies heavily to any gel or hairspray I find because it is a setting product. Imagine it as cheap concrete or cheap paint, it isn’t going to look as good as the posh builders’ standard one, is it? It may come close but I find if you use a cheap hairspray it makes your hair go hard and it is really hard to brush your hair after.

If I am honest, I haven’t really used this product and I’ve had it for two years. This is I am not saying it is a bad product it may work and do exactly what you want it to I just didn’t get on with it myself.

I wouldn’t recommend it unless you like using setting products in your hair, it helps to get a near brain when you spray it on your hands but you have to spray it a few times on your hand as it dries otherwise the ends won’t be as near. I probably won’t repurchase either. Not a bad price though for £3. Let me know if you do purchase and when you thought of it.
