1637 Welcome to my new look…

Good evening, everyone, or good morning, or good afternoon depending on where you are in the big old world. How are we all doing? Are you good? Are you tired? I hope everyone is enjoying their day so far, no matter how far into the day you are. Today’s post is going to be a bit different to what I typically upload for you guys. It’s not a haul, an experience or anything in between. I wanted to take the opportunity to have a little conversation, try to learn a bit more about you and share a bit of background.

I want to take a second to invite everyone to comment below, use the contact me page, and just let us know how you are doing if you have been doing anything exciting or planning anything exciting. We can inspire and motivate each other to get a move on.

As I said, today is more of a chat. You may or may not have noticed… The website got a bit of a facelift this last week. I have wanted to do something for a while now but kept putting it off because I knew it was going to be a fair bit of work. I might be a bit biased, but it is cool looking now, right? I am in love with the ability to use my photography as the background on the pages! What I didn’t quite realise is how dated and old the theme I was using had become. There were so many features that were new but not compatible with the theme as it was 8 years old.

Why now? you ask, well I will tell you why now. Around the 9th of April, I discovered that something wasn’t quite right with the website. I got on to the technical people and sure enough, they confirmed it was a bug and that they would try to fix it. As I knew there was a bug, I thought, well, I might as well revamp the website and sort of start afresh for when the bug was fixed.

So, Wednesday last week (the 14th of April), I decided today was the day, I logged in and I went straight to completely changing the website. It took a lot of trial and error, fiddling around, and testing. It was not simple, but I wasn’t expecting it to be easy. I am a bit gutted that I did not keep a screenshot of the before and after, but I can’t change it back and I can’t go back in time (if you have a time machine, please contact me).

It is not completely done, I have a list of glitches I have found that I need to fix and a list of things I want to add or change etc, but it is 90% back to where it was information-wise. For those of you eagle-eyed readers, you will have noticed a new edition which is a bit of my photography. There is plenty more to come but I had to start somewhere, right?

The main bits that need to be updated are the written areas that are not the blog pages. They were written 8 years ago when I was 16/17. Now I am in my mid 20’s, I don’t speak the same way, so I just need to modernise it and make it a bit more like me and my personality.

Knowing this about the facelift explains why I decided to miss last week’s post. I couldn’t decide what post I wanted to write for you, so I chose to do some redesigning for you instead.

For now, I think we will leave it at that. Please feel free to let me know what you think of the facelift in the comments or send me a direct message using the contact me page. I will leave a link for you.

Hope you have a great week and speak to you soon.
