2376 What do I do when I break out?

I was blessed *cough* cursed *cough* with fairly oily skin. I do have dry patches, but the oily areas are OILY areas. Now and then, my skin decides to melt down and break out as much as possible. This is partly my fault… I am a bit of a junk food muncher. So, I will take responsibility for helping my skin break out.
When I notice that I will have a big breakout, I do a few things. It doesn’t matter what order you do them in, but you MUST do them both on the same day. The first thing is to go around my bedroom and pick up any jumpers/hoodies that I have left lying around because I could wear them again… they go straight in the washing basket. I put any scrunchies in the washing. I change either my bed or if I am short on time, at a minimum I will change two pillowcases. Make sure you have a bath or shower (whichever you prefer) and do a mask if you have time.
Once you have done this…. Try to be particularly conscious of not touching your face. I am really bad. I am always touching my face, pulling at my lip, biting my lip, scratching an ear, playing with an earring etc. So, that is something I am working on, and mostly failing at stopping.
Stress can be a factor impacting your skin. Whenever something happens that puts a strain on a person’s body, skin, hair, and nails are usually the first to have visible differences. Your body is smart, and it concentrates on those important organs and ignores the areas of the body that you can afford to lose.
Another couple of things that are very important when it comes to all skincare, not just breakouts are staying hydrated (I am also terrible at this, I hate drinking water) and the second is sleep… make sure you are at least trying to get enough sleep. Turn Netflix off, turn your phone off and sleep.
Rest and hydration can do amazing things for a body that needs to be healed in any way. Why do you think the sickest patients are put into a forced sleep mode (coma), it allows your smart body to contrate on you instead of keeping your eyes open.
The last thing I’d like to remind you all… give yourself time. It won’t sort itself overnight. Keep putting yourself and your skin first, do anything you can to help it and let it breathe.
Good Luck.
